Putting into practice

During these last years the process of development faced by Cambodia and the presence of foreign investors and international organizations have created considerable needs in the fields of consulting, the writing of reports on specific social issues, quantitative approaches, and longer research studies.

These studies deal with many fields:

The Cambodian rural world.
Illiteracy.
Poverty alleviation.
The prostitution of minors.
Human trafficking.
Linguistic planning.
Cambodian ethnic minorities.
Domestic violence.
Khmer and ethnic minorities' cultural heritage.

Report writing about an aspect of the above-mentioned fields requires:

Efficient training in social-science research.
Fieldwork practice.
The ability to collect data and display results.
The ability to write a report.

The various forms of training proposed by the IDSSC are designed precisely to fulfill those needs. The current demand will, by generating employment, strengthen the existing university training in the social sciences.
